The new Plant 2006
Acer palmatum
'Chitoseyama'
Zone 6
(Europe 7)
The original Chitoseyama was first described in the list of 1882 and has dark purple leaves
My plant originated in Exbury Gardens England in the early 1990's and for some peculiar reason was given the same name
The leaves here are an olive green, then turning bronze green to deep green as the season progresses
Autumn colour is a striking red
These pictures show the different colours of this plant at varying times of the year
REMEMBER that all Japanese Maples prefer a slightly acid well drained soil with a constant moisture content.
