The leaf
Acer palmatum
'Ever red'
Zone 6
(Europe 7)
The new spring growth is covered with fine silvery hairs which make the unfolding growth look almost grey
It soon loses this pubescence and and attains this beautiful deep red colour so typical of this cultivar
The leaves hang down giving the whole plant a feathery cascading appearance
These pictures show the different colours of this plant during varying times of the year
REMEMBER that all Japanese Maples prefer a slightly acid well drained soil with a constant moisture content.
